In summer 2011, after designing various events for VME, they offered me the job of LD for a festival that I had worked as a tech on since 2008. This was the first time I had been given the opportunity to design such a large scale event and I was very proud to accept it.

I started out with a blank canvas in WYSIWYG, and equipment list and each artists rider. From there I spent many days creating a rig that would suit the requirements of the festival. I had to consider the the spec that had been asked for by Groove Armada who were headlining. This involved several email and telephone conversations with Jonny, their LD.

I also had to consider that the highlights would be broadcast on Channel 4, so it had to be camera friendly.
